Mitsubishi Challenger PA MY05 4WD Wagon, 3.0L V6, Petrol, Automatic, 2WD/4WD low/ 4WD high, 287.500KM.
DEALER BOUGHT, 6 MONTHS EXTENDED SENTINEL WARRANTY (NWC) & ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, NEW WA REGO (CHANGED FROM QLD SO CAR WENT OVER THE PITS) UNTIL 06/02/2019, PPSR CERTIFICATE, SERVICE HISTORY, NEW TIMING BELT + PUMP, NO OIL LEAKS, FULLY EQUIPPED, ROOFTOP TENT, DUAL BATTERY, FRIDGE/FREEZER.
After having heard too many stories of travelers and broken-down vehicles, we weren’t going to be the next ones buying a beaten-up backpacker car. Instead, we opted for an unequipped 4WD mainly used for highway driving from a trustworthy dealer. This 2004 Challenger (then 274500 km) was an ex-fleet vehicle (always serviced according to schedule) and the owners since used it to drive to work with. The dealer included a year of NRA and NWC (extended warranty plan B), so most expensive parts are covered (engine, starter motor, head gasket, gearbox etc).
Since a timing belt + water pump change would be due at 300*** km, we had that done straight away ($1000). We then kitted out the car for camping (see extensive equipment list below). We traveled from Cairns to Perth in 6 months, mainly highway driving and some 4WD tracks. Nothing wild, although this car is very capable: it’s an underestimated powerful beast! Because it’s so light it floats over sand and corrugations. We’re minimal travelers and kept the car spacious (back seat all free so can fit group/family) and clean.
We wanted to do the Big Lap but decided to stay in Perth for a while. We’d feel sorry to keep the car and sell all the camping gear, and much rather sell it kitted out to like-minded souls looking for a reliable, clean and fully equipped vehicle. Yes, there are cheaper options for sale, but you won’t find one with a new timing belt, 6 months warranty + NRA and a WA safety check (bought with a QLD rego and RWC but changed to WA rego, so the car had to go over the pits). Be safe (we don’t regret we did!) or be sorry 😉
When interested: we’re located in Perth (6061) and when not too far, can drive to you. Our price is $8950 (negotiable within reasons). You can contact us via Messenger or call Lars at 0421389368
